Thanks to the Washington Areaa Music Association and its members for awarding me the Wammie Award for 2011 Debut Recording! Downbeat Magazine gave the CD three stars in the March 2012 issue! In addition to winning the 2011 Debut Recording Wammie, the CD was a nomminee for Blues R&B Recording of the Year and I was nominated as 2011 Songwriter of the Year. "There Must be Something Wrong With You" off the "Crawstickers" CD took the Sllver Award in the Blues/Jazz Category of the 2011 Mid-Atlantic Songwriters Contest. Two other songs from the CD won Finalist awards, and another took an Honorable Mention. Three songs off the CD, "Real Fine Gumbo," "Crawstickers," and "Three Dollar Beer," were semi-finalists in the international UK Songwriting Contest. Each got a score of 8, which, according to the contest organizers, means they were among the top 8 percent of the 6000 songs submitted, and “among the top songs in the contest.” "There Must be Something Wrong With You" was a semi-finalist in the prestigious International Songwriting Contest, making it to the top of the pile from among 16,000 submitted songs. Ramminger brings honest wit to entertaining original songs *** (Three Stars) -- Downbeat Magazine, March 2012 What a treat this album is. Instead of a guitar based format, Scott Ramminger, singer/songwriter and band leader is a saxophonist, playing tenor, baritone and alto sax throughout. And what a joy to hear Ramminger strutting his stuff through eleven original songs that veer from slow Blues, boogie woogie and shuffle to the Mardi Gras groove of ‘Real Fine Gumbo’ -- Blues Matters Magazine "This is seriously entertaining music here with plenty of substance in the performances. Mix together strong original material with a first-rate band and a terrific singer-saxophonist, the result is the real fine gumbo of Scott Ramminger’s excellent Crawtickers" -- Ron Weinstock, In a Blue Mood "Nearly all the 11 songs have toes tapping along within seconds"
